Macedonia. Under Roman Rule, after 168 BC. AR Tetradrachm (16.7 g). Pleasant dealer lot. Head of Artemis right, quiver and bow at shoulder, all centered within decorated Macedonian shield. Reverse:Horizontal club within oak wreath, ethnic around; AP monogram above; thunderbolt at left. SNG Cop. 1310; AMNG III, 1, p. 54, 159. Also, Athens, an AR Tetradrachm, early 3rd century BC.: Head of Athena right, wearing crested helmet / Standing owl right, olive sprig at left. SNG Cop. 65. Macedon well centered, and cleanly struck; with good toning and portrait of better style. Athens with usual thick, oblong flan, the reverse surfaces a little rough. Coins average Very Fine.
