Lot 140

Roman Glass Fish Fragment, 1st Century B.C. to 1st Century A.D. A "free-blown" fragment lacking only the tail having enormously appealing silvery opalized iridescence. Glass fish objects are extremely rare and according to Keefer, there are less than 50 pieces known including identified fragments. In this particular example, note the sensational craftsmanship. Condition: repair to body just behind the head. 30mm in length and is presented on a clear plastic stand. Estimated Value $400 - 600
From the collection of Nancy and Earl Keefer.
