A beautiful type, based on one of the most celebrated colonial designs of the 19th century. In PCGS holder graded Proof 70 Deep Cameo. Estimated Value $3,200 - UP

First engraved in 1895 by Otto Schultz for the German colony of German New Guinea, the bird of paradise design was an instant numismatic icon and remains extremely popular today. This faithful successor to Schultz's design is produced through the same Issuing Authority as the original 1895 type.
