Frederick III (1452-1493). Cast Bronze Medal, 1469. Bust left, in hat and cloak, leg: FREDERICVS TERCIVS ROMANORVM IMPERATOR SEMPER AVGVSTVS. Reverse; The emperor, on horseback on the bridge of Saint Angelo, orders new knights, in the presence of the Pope, the Cardinals and the numerous armiger's; on either side of the bridge, two cherubs hold garlands and festoons, on the architrave of the bridge: CXXII EQVITE CREAT KALEN DI IANVARI MCCCCLXIX, 56.2 mm, 68.5g, by Bertoldo di Giovanni (Kress 249; Hill 912; Bargello 299).
