Lot 137

1847 N-36 R5+ PCGS graded XF40. Olive brown and chocolate with frost in the fields and protected areas. A very nice cent with only trivial contact marks. The best identifying marks are a light horizontal nick left of the ear lobe and a subtle puff of lighter tan toning on the front of the neck. EDS. The die lines and points around ONE CENT are sharp. Our grade is VF30, tied for CC#5 in the Grellman census. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; 3 finer: 1 in 45, 1 in 50, 1 in 63.
