Great Democrats. Signatures. Lot of two signed Time Magazine covers. Both covers have been matted to an overall size of 11 x 14." 1. Truman, Harry S (1884-1972) ("Harry S Truman"). Signed in black ink over a light shirt collar. Three horizontal fold lines are visible but do not obscure the signature and there is some mailing label residue at the bottom left corner but overall this piece is in fine condition. 2. Johnson, Lyndon Baines (1908-1973) ("Lyndon B. Johnson"). Signed in blue ink across a light portion of the portrait. There are two very small (less than ½") scratches on the figure of Johnson and overall this piece is in very good condition.
Interestingly, Truman was no fan of the Time Corporation and didn't sign too many covers. During the Eisenhower administration (this cover is 1953), Johnson worked closely with Eisenhower in forming coalitions and compromises between the various legislative and executive factions.
