Lot 129

Eisenhower and Nixon. Signatures. Lot of two signed Time Magazine covers. Both have been matted to 11 x 14." 1. Eisenhower, Dwight D (1890-1969) ("Dwight D Eisenhower"). Signed in black ink at the lower edge of the portrait. There are a few light creases and some areas of chipping. The original mailing label remains at bottom left but does not interfere with the signature. This piece is in good condition. 2. Nixon, Richard Milhous (1913-1994) ("Richard Nixon"). Signed in black ink in a white portion of the portrait. There is faint mailing label residue at the bottom left, a small chip out of the chin of the Vice President, and some very light soiling, but otherwise this piece is in good to very good condition.

Here, a laughing Eisenhower, looking very vital, is photographed at the Photographer's Dinner. While the caption on Nixon's cover, "A job upgraded, a task ahead," seems to sum up his approach to the Vice Presidency.
Estimated Value $300 - 400.

Realized $334
