1822 N-3 R2 PCGS graded AU58. Glossy chocolate brown with lustrous lighter steel brown toning covering the protected areas. The reverse is a shade or two lighter than the obverse and has some small splashes of darker steel brown toning on the right side. A trio of very tiny ticks just right of the date are the only notable signs of contact. Nicely struck E-MDS. The fields are smooth and slightly reflective. A curved planchet clip (as struck) affects the dentils under the 22 and half way to star 13 plus on the opposing dentils above. Graded AU55 and tied for CC#3 in the Noyes census, his photo #28123. Our grade is AU50. A sharp, attractive cent with a minor but obvious mint error. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 3; 3 finer: 1 in 63, 2 in 64. PCGS #36718.
