Lot 1266

1946 Iowa Half Dollar. PCGS graded MS-68. Wow……as good as it gets for toned silver commemorative coinage and the most drop dead gorgeous Iowa half dollar to exist! An astonishing blend of light blue, teal, magenta, violet and straw hues! Add to that luster that shifts and uncoils around the sharply struck eagle and all other detail and you get what we consider, as previously stated, to be the most beautiful Iowa half dollar in the world. The reverse is predominantly white but at 6:00 one can see where the same type of toning was beginning to form. PCGS may have a population figure of 57 in MS68 as finest but to be frank, we do not care….this coin is the ONE! Get out the dumbbells and get your bidding arms in shape for this piece (PCGS # 9316) .
Estimated Value $8,000 - 10,000.
