Lot 125

1852 N-6 R2 NGC graded MS64 Red & Brown. Lustrous mint red fading to light steel brown on the devices with at least half the mint color remaining. The only marks are a small spot of darker toning (not carbon) at the left top of star 4 and a larger toning spot on the leaf below the second T in STATES. Otherwise this cent is essentially flawless. LDS, die state c, with a large rim cud break from star 10.5 down to star 12. Our grade is MS64. Tied for CC#3 honors for the variety; tied for second finest known with the rim cud in the Grellman census. And this piece has more mint color. A great piece for the serious late date cent collector. Estimate Value $1,000 - UP

Realized $840
