Lot 122

Three (3) Egyptian/Phoenician Iron Age Glass ca. 900-400 B.C. Ancient glass pendants, two with portraits of males, the third of the deity, Bes.
1.) Rod formed male portrait, complete with details of ears, nose, mouth with an all-together pleasant demeanor. Missing its bail (suspension loop) otherwise quite fine. 18mm
2.) Round composite cast, mosaic glass portrait pendant of a bearded male. Face is 95% intact with outermost edge and bail missing. Very much a striking piece as one can see swirls of red, black and almost a silver color within the glass. 22 x 22 mm
3.) Turquoise colored glass pendant of Bes, deity of music, merriment, children and childbirth. Ogreish look clearly apparent with top of head (usually feathered crown) missing as well as the bail. Nevertheless a terrific example measures 24 x 20 mm
