Hoffa, Jimmy. Signature ("James R. Hoffa"). Signed Time Magazine cover. Signed in blue ink. The original mailing label is still attached but otherwise this piece is in very good condition.
In 1959, the year of this portrait, Hoffa was very much in control of his union and was in the process of making the Teamsters the largest labor union in the United States. The dark sky and rain, Hoffa's penetrating glare and the truck lights aimed straight at the reader make for a slightly sinister portrait.
