Lot 1202

Collector's Spoons. A Lot of Fifteen Different Spoons, with Various European Views. Lot of teaspoon and demitasse-sized pieces. Most in 800 silver, with many being gilt, most with enameling to handles, and all having enameled designs to the bowls. The designs seem to be either transfer prints or hand painting, or a mixture of both. But for three heraldic types, and one genre, the bowls show assorted architectural landmarks. Locales include: the Hotel de Ville in Brussels, Wiesbaden's theater, the Centraltheater of Chemnitz, Cerro Santa Lucia, the Casino in Nice, a lone spoon with Taj Mahal, while the genre scene has the storks of Strassbourg nesting among the chimneys. Spoons seem to be mostly pre-WWII, with a few around mid-century, or a bit later, and several perhaps much earlier. They show slight to moderate use. An interesting and colorful group. Three with small repairs to the enamel work. Lot of 15.

Estimated Value $200 - 300.
