Lot 1187

1851 N-6 R1 PCGS graded MS65 Brown. Repunched 1 and 51. Very attractive lustrous bluish steel and olive brown with 10% of the obverse showing underlying faded mint color. Satiny mint frost covers the planchet offering excellent eye appeal. The only notable mark is a planchet chip or dull nick on the rim under star 13. MDS, die state b late. The repunching on the 1's and under the top of the 5 is still visible. Our grade is MS63, tied for CC#4 in the Grellman census. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. Comes with an nice provenance. Pop 2; none finer at PCGS in BN.
