World War II and Vietnam War Propaganda Leaflets -- Group of 13. Four German propaganda leaflets, three warning the English about the destruction wrought by the V-1 and V-2 flying bombs; the V2 is especially frightening: "Nothing can be seen - Nothing can be heard - But It's There: V2"; the fourth warns that American soldiers will seduce British soldiers' wives while they are away fighting. From the Vietnam War, a group of smaller leaflets includes: a bright yellow Safe-Conduct Pass in Vietnamese with English: "To Be Honored By All Vietnamese Government Agencies and Allied Forces"; one showing a Vietnamese person giving directions to an American soldier, with one sentence in English: "This Man Has Information On VC Rice Collectors. Take Him To Your S-2"; the remaining seven are in Vietnamese, with no English on them. All toned, otherwise fine. Airborne leaflet propaganda was a form of psychological warfare and the quickest way to disseminate information. Military forces used aircraft to drop leaflets in order to alter the behavior of combatants and non-combatants in enemy-controlled territory, sometimes in conjunction with air strikes. Estimated Value $500 - UP

Realized $504
