1847 N-21 R1 PCGS graded MS64 Brown. Lustrous light olive and medium brown with mellowing mint red covering about 20% of both sides. Essentially flawless except for a small spot of very fine reddish carbon near the dentils under star 11. LDS, die state b (Newcomb's old #40). The earlier die lines are gone and there is a clear die crack through ME to the dentils over the adjacent letters. A very nice cent. Our grade is MS63, tied for CC#5 with many other examples in the Grellman census. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 4; 3 finer: 1 in 64+, 2 in 65. Estimated Value $1,250 - UP
