Lot 1174

1798 S-159 R3 Style I Hair with Small 8. Fine-12 Plus. Sharpness VF20 with too many tiny nicks scattered over both sides for the sharpness grade. None of these marks is significant in its own right, but there are too many to ignore. No roughness or verdigris. Glossy medium brown and light chocolate with small clouds of darker olive toning mixed in. MDS, Breen state V. The vertical die cracks behind the portrait are strong and a die crack connects the tops of LIB, but the cud break in that area has not formed. Close to F15.
Estimated Value $600 - 900.

Realized $920
