Lot 116

1820 N-9 R3 Large Date PCGS graded AU55. Frosty medium brown and chocolate with some darker steel toning on the obverse devices. Flowline luster covers the fields and protected areas, especially on the reverse. Would rate a slightly higher grade but there is a very light rim bruise between stars 1 & 2, another over the F in OF, and a third at the second A in AMERICA. These minor bumps do not catch your eye. MDS with microscopic flowlines in the fields. The fine repunching at the left bottom of the 0 in the date is dull but still visible and there are faint die cracks from the truncation to the top of the 8 and another curving down from the tip of the chin. A sharp cent, at the lower end of the condition census for the variety. Our grade is EF40. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2; 3 finer: 2 in 64, 1 in 64+. PCGS #36661. Estimated Value $1,000 - UP
