1893 Civilization Medal, Eglit-106, white metal, 102mm. MS-63. Obverse elder Columbus bust 1/4 to left in center with Indian and female figures at edge. Reverse highly detailed, intricate scene of "Civilization" and Genii above Native American Indians sitting on American coastline. This medal was designed by Pagliaghi, engraved by Capuccio, and struck by Stefano Johnson in Milan, Italy. Like similar Eglit this is also among the most artistic of the Columbian Expo medals. This medal is encased in a custom acryllic holder, with attribution engraved into holder.
