Seleukid Kingdom. Antiochos X Eusebes Philopator. PB Mina Weight (636.2 g), 94-88 BC. SE 221 (92/1 BC). Issued when Antigonos was market official (agoronomos). ETOVΣ AKΣ / AΓOPANOMOVNTOΣ / ANTIΓONOV / MNA / ΛΛΛΛΛΛΛ in five lines. Reverse: BAΣIΛEΩΣ ANTIOΧOY EYΣEBOYΣ ΦIΛOΠATOPOΣ in two lines either side of Seleukid anchor. Pondera -; cf. P. Weiss and K. Ehling, "Marktgewichte im Namen seleukidischer Könige," Chiron 36 (2006), 369-378, for a nearly identical published one mina weight of Antiochos X Eusebes but in the name of the agoranomos Demetrios for year 218 (95/4 BC). Seemingly unpublished and interesting. There are only a handful of Seleukid weights known. Reddish-brown patina with white-sandy encrustations. Choice Very Fine. Estimated Value $2,000 - UP
