1892 Committee of One Hundred Citizens Medal with Original Box. Eglit-98A. MS-65 Brown. Bronze, 57mm. Obverse has youthful bust of Columbus at center with three caravels in ocean. Reverse has Spanish shield at top, American shield at bottom, and inscription in center. Issued to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the discovery of America by the Committee of One Hundred Citizens of New York. Uniform dark brown color with four or five tiny carbon spots on the obverse and reverse. Medal comes with its original brown cardboard box. An attractive and somewhat elusive piece.
