1788 New Jersey Maris 50-f Rarity-3 PCGS graded VG10. Head Left type. Nice glossy medium brown blending to light chocolate in protected areas on the reverse. Nicely centered on a defect-free planchet. The obverse displays better details than the reverse, as usual thanks to the well worn reverse die used in this marriage. The date is strong and the repunching at the top of the first 8 is clearly visible. Very nice for the grade. Comes with a certification signed by Walter Breen, on which he calls this piece "far above average!" Listed on pages 70-71 in the "Redbook."
