Four (4) Luristan Bronze Figures, Northwestern Iran, ca. 1000 B.C. One Quite Unsual. Collection of four (4) Luristan pieces. Luristan work had the tendency to elongate the necks and bodies of their figures which allowed for exceptionally graceful details and curves. The smaller pieces in this collection exhibit the elongated bodies but the horse is something else.
(1) The horse figure is a flattened figure that clearly demonstrates the extended stylings of Luristan pieces. Suspension loop on front shoulders indicate this piece was worn or incorporated in fabric. It does not appear legs broken, instead configured as if galloping. 2 x 5".
(2) Two small rams, one with a suspension loop. 1¾" and 1½" in length making for a great pairing.
(3) Double-side rams head bronze stamp seal. 1¾" tall. Estimated Value $800 - 1,000

Unsold
