Ionia, Teos. 450-425 BC Silver Stater (11.74g). Griffin seated to right, raising its left foreleg, both wings displayed, swan on right. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square with granulated surfaces (J M Balcer, The Early Silver Coinage of Teos, SNR 47, 1968, Group LII, 101; Boston 1939). Well-struck and with a light iridescent tone.
