Halévy, Fromental -- ALS Mentioning "The Rose Fairy". Jacques-François-Fromental-Élie Halévy (1799-1862) Composer of the opera "La Juive," chorus master at the Théâtre Italien, and professor at the Conservatoire de Paris. Autograph letter signed "F. Halévy," one page, in French, 7¼ x 4½", no place, Saturday, Mar. 30 (1850?). To Monsieur Brandus, asking him to please send a little piece of "The Rose Fairy" to their colleague and friend, Baron Tayor. With holograph integral address leaf to Monsieur Brandus or, in his absence, to Monsieur Laval. Closed tear at blank bottom, some penciled notes, a page with some biographical information tipped to verso of letter. Very good. Halévy composed "La fée aux roses" in 1849.
