Lot 1045

1854. Arrows. PCGS graded Proof 64 PQ. CAC Approved. Wonderful shades of blue and gold toning with flashy reflectivity from the mirror fields. The devices are bathed in thick, creamy frost that shows no handling issues or distractions of any kind. An important coin that is a classic American rarity in all grades. The surfaces are well preserved and the toning is absolutely delightful. It is believed that only 20 proofs were struck and this is one of the best around from those that survived. Furthermore, the 1854 has the Arrows at the date which were added to announce the small reduction in the silver content of these coins, done in order to stop the massive meltings that had decimated old tenor silver coins struck prior to the silver reduction in February of 1853. If you are a proof coin specialist, then set your mind to capture this incredible rarity. Pop 6; 2 finer in 65 (PCGS # 6407) .
Estimated Value $17,000 - 19,000.
