Lot 102

1806 C-4 R1 Large 6 with Stems PCGS graded MS63 Brown. Very attractive lustrous bluish steel brown and light chocolate with ample traces of faded mint red showing in protected areas, mostly on the obverse. Satiny mint frost covers this half cent and the eye appeal is excellent. The notable marks are a long, dull nick in the drapery over the 806 and a speck of fine carbon nestled under the right wreath stem. MDS, Manley state 1.0 late. The repunching on the 6 remains clear. The reverse is rotated 35 degrees clockwise and the strike is soft on the bust tip and opposing leaves at the top of the wreath, as usual. In addition there is a minor planchet clip that affects the dentils left of the hair ribbon and the opposing dentils over NI in UNITED. Our grade is MS60+. The attribution and Green Tree Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; none finer for the variety. Estimate Value $2,000 - UP
Ex Pinnacle Rarities 4/5/2006-The Green Tree Collection.
