Lot 1007

Roman Purplish Glass Janus Head of a Putto Together With Roman Molded Amber Glass Grapes Flask, Both 2nd-3rd Century AD. 1.) The purplish glass flask was created with the body blown into a two-part mold, in the form of a Janus head, with two faces of a chubby Putto. An uneven cylindrical neck actually has an interesting "pinch" on one side. Putto face is much clearer on the obverse rather than reverse which is obscured by oxidation. Know bottle has had quality repairs throughout. 9.5 cm

2.) Roman mold blown amber glass grapes flask sealed. Mold lines evident which is great for study. There is a chip to one "grape" and expert repairs to the bottle throughout. Unusually thick glass, 7.6 cm. Estimated Value $500 - 900
