Morris, Robert: Founding Father, First Superintendent of Finance (1734-1806) One of the most important figures in the founding of the United States. Robert Morris served as a member of the Pennsylvania legislature, the Second Continental Congress, a US Senator from Pennsylvania, and significantly, a signer of the Declaration of Independence, the Articles of Confederation, and the United States Constitution. Finally as the first Superintendent of Finance, with Alexander Hamilton and Albert Gallatin set the course for America's financial system. Offered is a boldly endorsed promissory note by Morris, 4 x 7" dated April 20, 1795, for a whopping $3000.00. In superior condition. Included is a vintage original engraving of Morris 5 x 7".
