1967 Apollo 1 original "Apollo flight crew emblem" crew patch. This is one of the genuine 'official' crew patches (3.5") as given to Deke Slayton in his official capacity as Director of Flight Operations by Apollo 1 crew member Gus Grissom prior to the fire in which the crew lost their lives. Included is a copy of two notes (original on file) found with the patches in Slayton's estate. One is of a NASA card reading "Item: 'Apollo Flight Crew Emblem' (Part no ACS 204/Date Sept 19/1966/Quantity/5/Aug 1966" and bears two official handstamps. 2005 Bobbi Slayton COA.

1967 Apollo program flammability test teflon & Kapton coated wire. Following the Apollo 1 fire on 1.27.67, a series of flammability tests were conducted in the CM boilerplate chambers. As a result of these test, this lacing and wire were incorporated in Apollo CM & LM spacecraft. The two samples (about 6" long) are from the original batch, some of which were used for testing, are affixed to COA by the lacing.
