Think, this is the currency that was used in Connecticut when it became part of the United States of America just a few weeks later. Pen cancelled. Very Fine.

Illustrating the severity of forgery, the back of each note is printed with the warning: "To Counterfeit is DEATH".

Most notes from this issue are known in remainders with the fully issued notes being scarce. The Latin motto "THE ACTAEON. IRAM PRUDENTIA VINCIT" translates to "The Actaeon. Wisdom overcomes anger." Both Greek and Hebrew letters are used on the back of the note. Choice Uncirculated.
