1808 S-277 R2 Turban Head F15. Sharpness VF30 but the reverse is covered with fine reddish corrosion while the obverse has traces of very light corrosion in protected areas. A few very light contact marks on the cheek and neck, none notable. Partly glossy light olive and steel with reddish brown toning in protected areas. MDS.

1809 S-280 R2 Turban Head. PCGS graded EF-45. Frosty chocolate and olive brown with slightly lighter steel brown toning on the highpoints. Flowline luster covers the fields and protected areas, especially on the reverse where lots of mint luster remains. The only defects are a short scratch over star 4 and a small patch of microscopic roughness on the O in OF. MDS, Breen state VI, with die cracks at the top of the reverse. Our grade is VF35. An attractive example for the grade. The attribution is shown on the PCGS label. Pop 1; 6 finer at PCGS for the variety. (PCGS # 36466) .

1809 S-280 R2 Turban Head PCGS graded VF35. Chocolate brown and steel. The surfaces are a bit dull from a thin layer of natural oxidation, but the surfaces are smooth, void of any hint of corrosion. No defects. M-LDS. The die cracks at the top of the reverse are clear Our grade is VF20, perhaps better after a proper brushing to bring out the natural gloss (PCGS # 1546) .

The surfaces are decent but a glass reveals uniform extremely faint granularity under the toning. No marks or verdigris. Nice eye appeal in spite of the slightly dark toning. Our grade is F12+, close to F15. M-LDS. The overdate is obvious (PCGS # 1552) .

1811 S-287 R2 Turban Head F12. Clipped Planchet. Glossy medium chocolate brown. No roughness or verdigris, only light contact marks consistent with the grade. A small dig or planchet chip at the left edge of the earlobe and another over the left top of the Y in LIBERTY are the only notable marks. LDS. A curved planchet clip affects the dentils under the first 1 in the date and the opposing ones over ATE in STATES (as struck).

Sharply struck EDS with a clear double profile on the nose.
