Lot 2993
1928, $100 Gold Certificate. PCGS Extremely Fine 45PPQ. Fr-2405. . KL-2747. An absolutely stunning small size Gold note. Unlike most surviving pieces from this issue, the bulk of which have been pressed or cleaned, this piece is fully original and has spectacular colors and embossing. It has just a light fold or two that prevent a higher technical grade, but if eye appeal and originality matter at all (which this cataloger believes they do!) then expect this note to realize closer to an AU or even Uncirculated price level.
Estimated Value $2,000 - 2,500.

Lot 2994
1928, $100 Gold Certificate. PCGS Apparent Very Fine 20. Fr-2405. . KL-2747. Although there are a few problems on the back, notably some writing in ink, a paper scuff, and some foreign substance residue, this piece faces up rather nicely for the grade and will make some collector very happy.
Estimated Value $300 - 400.

Lot 2995
1928, $500 Gold Certificate. PCGS Very Fine 35. Fr-2407. . KL-2945. This is a very scarce note in a very desireable grade. Most survivors of this issue have problems to some degree, or are very well worn or damaged. This piece is a pleasant exception to the general rule, and has good overall eye appeal for the grade. It is fully original, and there are no obvious distractions or flaws. Only 420,000 small size $500 Gold Certificates were originally printed, and most were redeemed or destroyed. Not many nice mid-grade pieces could have potentially survived for collectors today.
Estimated Value $12,000 - 15,000.
