Lot 2594
1882, $20 Gold Certificate. PMG Net Extremely Fine 40. . Fr-1176. . KL-553. Less than two dozen known examples comprise the entire census of known examples of this rare number, and this piece is near the top of the list in condition. It has a fer minor repairs that are mostly visible from the back, but the face is flawless in appearance. The PMG insert remarks "Great Color," a statement with which we heartily agree.
Estimated Value $12,000 - 15,000.

Lot 2597
1905, $20 Gold Certificate. PCGS Currency Apparent Fine 12. . Fr-1180. . KL-557. Even in low grades, one can see what is meant by the "Technicolor" nickname that this design type has carried for many years. This one has a couple of small repaired areas at the bottom edge and the back is oxidized as usual, but it really doesn't face up all that bad and is an eminently affordable example of a design type that can run five or even six figures in top grades.
Estimated Value $1,000 - 1,500.

Lot 2598
1906, $20 Gold Certificate. PCGS Currency Very Fine 35PPQ. . Fr-1185. . KL-562. This is a perfectly original example that faces up much nicer than the assigned grade. It displays generous traces of embossing despite the modest circulation, and the colors have lost none of their vivd brightness.
Estimated Value $450 - 650.
