Czechoslovakia became a nation in 1918. It was a union of the Czechs from the Austrian dominated western area, and a union of the Slovaks from the Hungarian dominated eastern area. This arrangement might have worked except for the interference of Hitler in Germany, who demanded independence for the German minority (sudetenland). The Munich agreement in 1938, legitimized Hitler's demands and destroyed Czechoslovakia.

A very high grade example with superior surfaces for the type on a finer flan than typically encountered. NGC graded EF-45.

Fuad was originally the Sultan of Egypt, but changed his title to king, when Great Britain formally recognized Egyptian independence in 1922. Yet Fuad was a ruler in name only, since Britain pulled the strings. Britain controlled the Suez Canal, Sudan, and Egyptian foreign policy.
