Complete Set of 1942 "Smilin' Jack" Bubble Gum Cards. Sixteen uncut strips, consisting of 128 black and white cards, 1942, Eppy Co., N.Y. Smilin' Jack was a very popular World War II comic strip character who also starred in serial matinee movies. In this series, Jack fights off the Japanese. Cards consist of both cartoon drawings and real photos (from the movie series). Scarce in unseparated strips. Very fine.

Donald Duck & Scrooge McDuck, Set of Stats from Donald Duck Comics. Gold Key, U.S.A., c. early 1960's. Set of ten pages detailing the adventure: "Flight of the Golden Butterfly". Gold Key, Donald Duck Comics, no. 131. These stats show final hand work corrections, and would have been the final camera-ready art, from which the printer's plates were shot. Margins have pencil notations, pin and tape marks; first page with name of C.A. Valenti. Actual artwork panels clean and choice. Size: 18-1/2" x 12-3/4".

Set of four pages wherein the mischievous chipmunks cause havoc during a department store sale day, and embarrass Donald at the same time. These stats show final hand work corrections, and would have been the final camera-ready art, from which the printer's plates were shot. Margins have pencil and ink numberings. Actual artwork panels clean and choice. Size: 18" x 12-3/4".

Gould, Chester (1900-85) Cartoonist; creator of Dick Tracy. Autograph Letter Signed, one page, 11" x 8½", n.p., 3 June (19)63. Very good; toned; paper loss at upper left corner affects nothing. To newspaperman Kenneth E. Crouch in Bedford, Va., discussing the location of B.O. Plenty's Slingshort Mountain. With original 4½" x 2¾"ink drawing of Dick Tracy signed by Gould and inscribed "To Walter Popek," c. 1940s or 50s; very good; toned with a couple of small holes.
