Lot 1512
1916 Mercury Dime. PCGS graded MS-67 Full Bands. A light silvery-blue gem. By all measures, a superlative gem of the finest order. A high degree of bright cartwheel luster spins broadly beneath the shimmering blue highlights. Razor-sharp too, struck with the required force to impart all of the design including the cross bands on the fasces (PCGS # 4905) .
Estimated Value $600 - 700.

Lot 1513
1916-D Mercury Dime. NGC graded MS-64 Full Bands. Fully white coin. A fantastic coin, with riveting appeal from crystal-white fields and nearly matches the few gems sold occasionally in auctions. A generous amount of crisp detail for the type, as well, including those areas with the usual weak metal flows into the deepest channels of the dies leaving the centers bold. Only the reverse cross bands aren't quite up to "McDonald's Arches" sharpness to be termed "full" but the rest of the coin is bold. Greatly to its advantage, and boosting its aesthetic qualities, are full square rims, crisp hair and feather detail around Liberty's cap, and smooth silvery white luster without toning. Would make a handsome addition to any high-quality set of Mercury dimes. Pop 58; 28 finer.
Estimated Value $15,000 - 17,000.
