Lot 995
1983 No-S Dime Proof Set. All Coins are Choice Cameo Proof. In the original case of issue. The Dime lacks the usual "S" mintmark because workers at the Philadelphia Mint (responsible for adding the mintmark to the die) left it off! The mintage of the No-S Dimes is unknown, but apparently quite low. In 1987, Breen noted that about 100 Proof Sets with the No-S Dime had been found. Today, more than fifteen years later, PCGS has certified only about 50 examples; NGC, about 20. Lot of 5 coins.
Estimated Value $800 - 900.
