1916. NGC graded AU-53. CAC. Popular key date. A nice frosty coin with original mint luster and pleasing steel gray patina around the rims and evices. The strike is sharp enough and three is a dash of wear on the high points of the design. When these were released into circulation, all 52,000 1916 Standing Liberty Quarters went into bags mixed with 1917 quarters, so many were not saved or noticed as the "first" year of issue until they were well circulated. Hence high grade exmaples like this are highly desirable, and seldom offered. An impressive example of this key date issue and worthy of any advanced collection. Estimated Value $8,000 - 8,500
From the Blackhorse Collection.
