John F. Kennedy Collection: 11 Assorted Figures, Busts, Miniatures, Bobble-Head, Talking Action Figure & The Controversial Desk Set. A fine collection of figural, or sculptural pieces that are very much part of the John F. Kennedy collector's universe. Offered are eleven beginning with the most controversial. From Edward Reed Historical Enterprises Inc., Dallas Texas, in 1964 is this copper gilt pot metal desk set of Dealey Plaza with the Texas School Book Depository cast complete with the Hertz Rent-A-Car sign that indeed stood atop the building in 1963. The window Oswald positioned himself is recessed, in high relief on the knoll "Site of Pres. J.F. Kennedy Assassination 11-22-63" and conveniently a bowl recessed to hold paper clips or other items all highlighted with an authentic JFK 50¢ piece dated 1963. This piece is very well known within Kennedyiana Collectors and is thought only around 100 made due to no vendor, museum or department store wanting to sell them as the assassination being so recent and most finding the design "macabre". Other versions exist were drilled with a pen holder. Stamped with Edward Reed Historical Inc. on verso, desk set has scattered gilt loss otherwise very good. It is considered "The Strangest Souvenir Building" ever made by Journal of the Souvenir Building Collectors Society.

Also included are three busts of Kennedy, one by Quality Collectibles 42/1000 that is actually quite handsome, one of painted bronze over plaster and the third a crescent shaped onyx desk set with a bust of bronze gilt over white metal of Kennedy and still with original pens. Miniatures include a plastic Kennedy in rocking chair still in original package, two pairs of salt and pepper shakers (Kennedy is the pepper shaker the chair the is the salt shaker), a hand painted porcelain Sebastian Miniature, again with Kennedy in his rocking chair, and a Murano glass-like paperweight with Kennedy's image. Finally a bobble head and the John F. Kennedy Talking Action Figure mint in box unopened. Estimated Value $500 - UP
