Lot of Old English Indentures, Land Grants and American Writs, and Legal Agreements 11 Pieces Total in Fine to Excellent condition. An interesting lot of 11 documents which include: 4 large English Indentures, each by King Charles II, and each beautifully accomplished on vellum with "all the bells and whistles" attached, February 1, 1610 …Thomas Sherman in the County of Suffolk…a second dated January 19, 1676; a third dated January 19, 1677 … In the nyme and twentieth years of the reign of our Sovereign Lord Charles the Second by the grace of God of England, Scotland and Ireland King and Defender of the faith.…; and a fourth Indenture dated 1688; Jan. 12, 1795 Writ ordering appearance in court in State of Connecticut of promisor of note who failed to pay when due…; December 24, 1753 Writ ordering appearance in Court in his majesty's name re 75 acres of land…; October 2, 1797 Writ to the sheriff of Newhaven County ordering imprisonment for failure to pay a judgment…; Feb. 20, 1847 Sheriff of St. Clair County, Illinois certifying to sell 3 lots of land to satisfy judgment, etc…"; March 15, 1878 Indictment for gambling by 3 men "Which game by playing and betting they each won and lost fifty dollars" in Knox County, Kentucky.; May 17, 1912 Agreement to collect for a judgment of $104.77.and three more dealing with mortgages and loans. Finally a 1798 document pre-printed on laid paper from the the court in Goshen, New York in Orange County "order to create a jury of twelve landowners" dated "The Seventeenth day of February in the Twenty Second Year of our Independence, 1798".

Carte de L'Empire du Japon by Jacques Nicolas Bellin, 1752. Map of Japan and the Sea of Japan (1703-1772) Engraving of Japan from the 18th Century by acclaimed French hydrographer and geographer Jacques Nicolas Bellin. He was a member of the Académie de Marine and of the Royal Society of London. Examined in frame, the map appears to be in very fine condition with overall light and even toning, not at all unexpected. 9¼ x 13" and very modestly framed in brick red lacquer frame. Estimated Value $200 - UP
