Pierre Salinger, former Senator, former White House Press Secretary to Kennedy and Johnson, and an award winning journalist and reporter. A Tribute to John F. Kennedy Encyclopedia Britannica, Chicago (1964) Collection of tributes by an array of politicians and notables, edited into this collection by Pierre Salinger and Sander Vanocur. Slip cased edition with multiple signatures including Pierre Salinger, Nancy Salinger, David Brinkley and Peter Lawford. Appears never to have been read and in near mint condition. Also includes a TLS by Pierre Salinger gifting this volume. 2.) Colin Powell, An American Journey 2.) Colin Powell, retired four-star general in the United States Army. During his military career, Powell also served as National Security Advisor, as Commander of the U.S. Army Forces Command and as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Signed edition of his autobiography An American Journal in superior condition. 3. Dan Quayle, former Vice-President, and critic of "Murphy Brown" signed edition of Standing Firm his Vice-Presidential memoir in very fine condition. Estimated Value $300 - UP

Grant, Ulysses S. Personal Memoirs of U.S. Grant, Two Volumes, First Editions 1885-1886. (1822-1885) 18th President of the United States; Commanding General of the Union Army in the American Civil War. Charles L. Webster & Co. 1885-1886, New York, First Editions. Personal Memoirs of U.S. Grant. Overall volumes in good condition. Boards covered in dark green cloth with gold gilt medallions featuring his profile and Joint Resolution of Congress 1863 on front boards, with Mississippi River emblem on both rear boards. The spines also have gold gilt printing and 4 Star General insignia. Both volumes have numerous engravings, maps and letters. Condition is mixed. Volume 2 has scuffs that run through the medallion on the cover, spines are solid, with minor fraying to top and bottom. Corners of boards on both books soft, there is a name stamp "Mary" on both title pages, otherwise clean. Overall good condition and certainly in collectible condition. Grant was terminally ill when he wrote these volumes and needed to raise money to support his family after his death and to settle debts. Mark Twain encouraged Grant throughout the writing and was at his bedside when he died. Twain then sponsored and supervised the publication of the memoirs, initially offered in various deluxe editions that differed in price. Grant's work has remained in print for over 100 years but here is a fine opportunity to acquire these 19th Century first editions. Estimated Value $600 - UP
