Collection of Richard "Dick" Underwood: Personal Collection From Skylab 2 and 4 Photos Plus 8 Glass Slides. Richard "Dick" Underwood was chief engineer on the production of the first topographic maps of the moon. He also provided technical training to every astronaut who went into space in the twentieth century. Further, he toured the world giving over 1500 lectures on NASA and the space program earning legions of fans. From his collection, 60+ photos from Skylab 2 & 4 plus Skylab 4 Recovery composite sheets. We have kept two of the original binders, but Skylab 4 notebook was too damaged. We did save the original binder tab. While the binders show what Houston weather can do, the photos were sleeved and in excellent condition. Also included are 8 glass slides from Skylab. Collection of Richard "Dick" Underwood: Personal Collection of 10" Wide Spools of Exposed Film From Skylab and Apollo Mapping. Richard "Dick" Underwood was chief engineer on the production of the first topographic maps of the moon. He was the first person to view every photograph from the Gemini, Apollo, Skylab, Apollo-Soyuz and the first 23 space shuttle missions. He also provided technical training to every astronaut who went into space in the twentieth century. Further, he toured the world giving over 1500 lectures on NASA and the space program earning legions of fans. From his personal collection, THREE (3) flown spools of of 10" film mapping. (Two in cannister, one without) The one without a case most likely from Skylab as the images are of Earth and there are time stamps that are not on the Apollo film. The other two, we can only guess they are from Apollo 15 lunar mapping but we unspooled feet and feet of film and could not find a mission imprint. But clearly from an Apollo Command Module and we are assuming Apollo 15. Nevertheless fantastic pieces from the Apollo and Skylab missions and without question, very scarce. Estimated Value $400 - UP
