Aviation Collection: Chuck Yeager Bold Signature & NF-104 Crash Fragment, Aviation Log of A-1 Navy's First Airplane, + Vintage Photos. Aviation collection with great appeal for collectors. 1.) Bold autograph of Chuck Yeager plus a very scarce aircraft crash site artifact from the NF-104A augmented jet he was piloting that at an altitude of 104,000 feet went into a flat spin to 11,000 feet. Yeager ejected safely but was badly burned on his face, an event depicted in the film THE RIGHT STUFF. 2) Vintage e-print of Aviation Log, Curtiss Hydroaeroplane Navy No. A-1, 1 July 1911 to 16 October 1912 as republished in 1961 by Lee M. Pearson Historian Naval Weapons and makes for fascinating reading with the last chapter exclusive of the aviation logs containing amazing photos. 3.) Autograph and two original photos of "Wrong Way" Corrigan in 1939. 4.) 14 phenomenal 8 x 10" vintage original war planes and training exercises 7th Fleet. Great collection and in excellent condition. Seven Commemorative Covers Six Signed by Paul Tibbets, Pilot of The Enola Gay And Some With Crew. Seven (7) commemorative covers celebrating flight, the end of WWII and the crew who participated in the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. 1.) Four commemorative covers signed exclusively by Paul Tibbets while still in fine health. 2.) Two covers postmarked US "VJ" (Victory Japan) Sept. 2, 1945 and signed by pilots of both the Enola Gay and Bockscar (Tibbets and Charles Sweeney) and members of their respective crews. 3.) Scarce signature by Dr. Val Fitch who received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1980, but 40 years prior worked on developing the atomic bomb under "The Manhattan Project". All excellent condition. Chuck Yeager: Two Rare Signed USAF Jet Air Mail Covers from 1953 and 1956 For US Air Force (Born 1926, presently 97 years in age) Two very scarce signed jet air mail covers by legendary test pilot Brigadier General, Chuck Yeager. Goldberg Auctions has sold many commemorative signed covers by Yeager, but theses two are the first we have offered so early after his breaking the sound barrier in 1947. 1.) Flown cover on a test flight of Convair's XF-92A Delta Wing Experimental Transsonic Jet Interceptor. Yeager has logged the flight took place at Edwards AFB Calif., on 3 Feb, 1953 and signed Charles E. Yeager, Major USAF Pilot. On verso is a large green sticker with red hand stamp, U.S.A.F. JET AIR MAIL 2.) Flown cover on U.S.A.F. Jet Mail, F-86H Sabre Jet, Flown from Cazaux, Fr. to Hahn A.B. Ger. 26 June 56 Plane #430 by Charles E. Yeager Pilot, Lt. Col. Chas. E. Yeager, USAF. 45+ Autographs of Legends of Early Aviation on Superb Hand Painted Covers including Admiral Byrd and Charles Kingford Smith. Wonderful, unique collection of autographs all obtained in the early 1930s, signed on superb hand painted covers by the artist/autograph collector himself. This resulted in a fine collection of writers, sports legends, pilots, military, and entertainers responding to him due to these beautiful miniature works of art that can be found throughout this auction. Early aviation history is represented in these 40 autographs which also detail each pilot's accomplishments. Impossible to list them all but virtually every record holder of note of the late 1920s to early 1930s are here and the images painted are absolutely outstanding. Included are Admiral Byrd and his flights over both Poles, Bernt Balchen his co-pilot, Charles Kingford Smith "The Southern Cross" flew across both Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Charles Levine, the SECOND to cross Atlantic after Lindbergh, Glenn Martin considered the first "Air-Man" after Wright, Lowell Smith first around the world, Lt. G.H. Stainforth Speed Record, Clyde Pangborn first non-stop across Pacific, female pilots Ruth Elder, Amy Johnson, Ruth Nichols, Elinor Smith, dirigible pilots Hugo Eckener (Graf Zeppelin) and Charles Rosendahl (The Akron) and many many more greats.   Impressive Collection of Commemorative Covers and Patches of Experimental Aircraft, Prototypes, Cassini and Mars Rover. The largest collection of commemorative covers, some photos, and patches regarding experimental aircraft from the 1990-2010s we have ever offered. In the past only a small handful have been consigned but this is certainly a fine collection built over several years. 1) The largest number of pieces involve the McDonnell Douglas Delta Clipper DC-X in the early 1990s. Included are photos, 3 Flown Patches with COA's by Dale Shell DCX Flight Manager (Two patches from Flight 6 only 63 flown, One from the final Flight 8 only 73 flown.) Plus 21 additional patches consisting of six different issues and 16 commemorative covers.
Balance of collection are 50+ first day covers commemorating: NASA's Helios Prototype Aircraft, X-34 covers, X-43A X-45, terrific Mars Rover covers two covers celebrating Florida and NASA quarters including the mint 25¢ pieces, Armadillo rocket prototype, Cassini-Huygens Mission to Saturn, and the Haughton-Mars project. There are many covers here we have never seen before and every item in excellent condition. We invite everyone to preview as impossible to photograph. Estimated Value $300 - UP

Impressive Collection of 50+ Signed Historic Pilots and Scientists of Aviation: Chuck Yeager, Bill Dana, J."Pete" Knight, "Wrong Way" Corrigan & More. Outstanding collection of vintage covers signed by historic pilots and scientists who made their mark in aviation history: Three signed by Chuck Yeager, Joe Engel, Bill Dana, Douglas "Wrong Way" Corrigan, J. "Pete" Knight (X-15 Record Winged Flight Speed), Joe Levier, Jack Northrop (Northrop Flying Wing Jet Bomber, 1948), Robert Rushworth, Dr. Eberhard and Rudolph Neber (German Rocket Pioneers), Maxim Faget (Engineer at Langley Research who is now given principal credit for designing the blueprint for Mercury and the spacecraft), and many other notables from the 1930s to 1970s. There are also 15 unsigned commemorative covers, 4 8 x 10" photos, nine vintage postcards of early experimental jets, and the original art for publications regarding the Pegasus Meteoroid Detection Satellite, dated February 1965. All items in very fine to excellent condition. A treasure trove for Aviation and Philatelic collectors. Estimated Value $300 - UP
