Reuge: Sainte-Croix Pocket Watch with Musical Cylinder, New In Elegant Box, Rare. Reuge music boxes are known the world over for their supreme level of craftsmanship. Offered is one of their scarce musical pocket watches. A favorite of all contemporary pocket watches is Reuge's "The Fountain". This is a fully mechanical watch with musical and automaton functionality. The music and automation are triggered by a handset alarm function and can also be activated manually by pressing a button. Collectible pocket watch has a diameter of approximately 57.25 mm (excluding bow & stem) and weighing approximately 188 grams. The case is gold plated with a heavy plate of 10 microns (20 times thicker than standard). The serial number is 2588. This watch has never been used. We know this as the wind-up key recess seal guard is still intact (we lifted the sticker slightly to make sure). The deluxe clam shell box in flawless condition.

An incredible find in this condition as used pieces are quite expensive. We do note the clock keeps time well but we did not want to wind the internal music cylinder for to do so we would have had to remove the seal. The Reuge website (which we invite everyone to visit regarding these pieces) indicates the music likely is a minuet by Mozart. Virtually mint condition. Estimate Value $1,600 - UP
