Researched Order of Suvorov 2nd Class. Type 1. Award # 204. Gold, silver, red enamels. Type 1, on early rectangular suspension, unique for this order type. The suspension measures 29.7mm wide and 20.1mm high. The order has no mintmark on reverse, as expected. Comes with official research - scans of award card and citations. Awarded to Colonel Kudryashev Mikhail Aleksandrovich by decree of October 26, 1943. According to archival research, Colonel Kudryashev was a career officer. Recipient of the 1938 "XX Anniversary of the RKKA" medal, he earned his first combat Order of Red Banner in February 1939, adding 2 more plus 2 more Orders of Lenin, in addition to this Suvorov 2nd class, during his distinguished WWII service. Order of A. Nevsky Regimental Unit Award. Type 3. Award # 23802. Silver. Type 3, screwback. Comes with original temporary certificate and original receipt of temporary certificate confirming this order to be awarded to the 1170th Light Artillery "Brandenburg" "Red Banner" "Order of B.Khmelnitsky" "Order of A.Nevsky" Regiment, by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the USSR. Date of decree is February 19, 1945. Award number is specified on both documents. Not a lot is known about 1170th Regiment. According to documents and available sources, its’ last WWII commander was Colonel Malahov. During the war, it was part of 197th Artillery "Lodzinsky" "Order of Suvorov" "Order of Kutuzov" Brigade, 1st Guards Tank Army, 1st Belorussian front. However, by some accounts, the Brigade was decommissioned in November, 1946, other accounts state that the Brigade was still listed as active in mid-1950’s. No accounts have it as active beyond that. Extremely rare documented UNIT AWARD. Elusive in private hands.Condition: Superficial scratches on the enamel, perfect otherwise with most of the gold plating still visible under even gray patina. Type 1, "BORDER REVERSE".• Order of Glory 3rd Class #271172.Guards Master Sergeant Solov’ev Vasiliy Zaharovich started his service at the Far East Military District in 1933. Participated in WWII since August 1941, first as a radioman-machine gunner, later as medic, 45thGuards Tank Brigade. Responsible for saving a large number of wounded soldiers and officers on numerous battlefields. Very unusual and historically significant full cavalier group, with very rare Border reverse 2ndclass order. Condition: Excellent vintage condition on all three orders, red enamel is mostly intact everywhere with exception of 2nd class, which has a couple of small chips. Gold plating on the 2nd class is also practically worn off, except around the base of the Kremlin’s wall. All silver connecting rings are uncut. Comes with original letter from archives of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation. Awarded to Captain Isayans O.A. (of Armenian origin), 5th Shock Army. In combat near Dmitrievka village, Captain Isayans, leading the battalion provided a clever stroke of tactics in capturing the road, cutting off the enemy’s path and ultimately capturing 6 vehicles and other facilities. Wounded in the arm, comrade Isayants only left the battlefield after the fight was over. With Award Certificate dated Budapest, May 1, 1950, to (posthumously) Fyodor Ivanovich Tolbukhin for his role in liberating Hungary from the Germans. Very rare and important.During World War II, Fyodor Ivanovich Tolbukhin (1894-1949) served as Chief of Staff for the Crimean Front, 1941-1942, Assistant Commander of the Stalingrad Military District, Commander of the 58thArmy, Commander of the Southern Front and Commander of the 3rd Ukrainian Front. On September 12, 1944 he was promoted to Marshal of the Soviet Union. Widely respected by both his fellow commanders and his men, Tolbukhin is considered one the finest Soviet generals of World War II. Under his command, Bucharest, Sofia and Belgrade were liberated, while he took part in the liberation of Hungary and Austria. Decorated many times for bravery, Tolbukhin was the recipient of the Victory Order and Hero of the Soviet Union. After the war, he served as Commander-in-Chief of the Southern Group of Forces, which comprised the Balkan region.
