Impressive 6" Megalodon Shark's Tooth. An outstanding speciment. Carcharodon megalodon was the largest shark that ever lived growing to more than 50 feet in length, most of the teeth found are only 3-4 inches in length. Teeth over 5 inches in length are in great demand. This large 6 inch long 3½ inch wide 15 million year old Carcharodon tooth was found in the muddy river waters of South Carolina. Estimating the length of a shark at about 10 feet in length to every one inch of tooth, this behemoth would be almost 60 feet long. This huge tooth has lovely gray black enamel, excellent serrations and a black root with the usual minor cracks. Most importantly there is no restoration. This is an opportunity to purchase a really large completely original shark's tooth. Comes with custom Megalodon stand for display. Estimate Value $2,000 - UP

The largest complete specimen measures 9 inches long with three other partials on a 16 X 12 inch dark gray matrix. These stunning sea scorpions are 420 million years old from the Fiddler's Green Formation of Herkimer County, New York. Estimate Value $2,000 - UP

16 Armored Crinoids in Impressive Double Sided Matrix. Crinoids can resemble a plant but are actually an echinoderm related to starfish and sea urchins. Attached to the sea bottom by long stems, these highly unusual animals filtered various small marine animals in order to feed. The finest details are seen with some of the arms having very small extensions attached to them which the crinoid used to grab onto small prey (somewhat analogous to the hooks on the tentacles of a squid). The crinoids are present on both sides of the matrix with ten calyxes on one side and six calyxes on the other. The impressive freestanding specimen beautifully exhibits both sides making it a marvelous display piece. Large mass mortality groups such as this are highly desirable. Matrix measure 12 X 10 inches. Estimate Value $1,800 - UP

Complete 14" Heteromorphic Ammonite, Volga River, Russia. 14" Heteromorphic ammonite Audoliceras is 120 million years old from the Volga River Ulianovsk Region of Russia and much larger than most found of this species which only measure 7-8" The ammonite has been expertly prepared in its original matrix and also displays iridescent mother-of-pearl surfaces on its ribbed shell. While most ammonite have a spiral shell this heteromorphic ammonite started out with a usual curl and then became uncoiled as it grew larger. It is unknown why this occurred and what type of lifestyle these unusual uncoiled ammonites had in the late Jurassic ocean. This huge museum quality ammonite was purchased by the former owner for $7000 in the late 1990's at the Tucson Fossil Show. Estimate Value $1,800 - UP

30 Million Years Old Camel Fossil Skull Found in Sioux County Nebraska. Rare and valuable fossils are sometimes found in the White River Badlands where they are uncovered by rain, wind and frost and are quickly destroyed unless they are found and collected. Poebrotherium was one of the very first camels over 30 million years old which originated in North America and not in Asia. It was the size of a sheep and lived in herds standing only about 30 inches tall. It had longer hind legs than forelegs and was built for speed. This virtually complete skull is 8 x 5 x 2" and is still positioned on the stone matrix as found in Sioux County Nebraska. The quality is outstanding with just the very front teeth restored. Estimate Value $1,600 - UP

Thin Dinosaur Feathers in 100 Million Year Old Burmite Amber. Most amber is too young to have dinosaur feathers in, but Burmite is the name for 100 million year old amber found in the Hukawang Valley in northern Burma (Myanmar). These feathers could belong to an early bird or theropod dinosaur because what defines a dinosaur and an early bird is somewhat blurred. Both Coelurosaurs and Tyrannosaurs are known to have been feathered from remarkable fossils found in China. These 8mm long thin feathers are exceptionally clear and beautifully preserved in a 17 x 10 x 3 mm polished cabochon of honey colored amber. The thin feathers have excellent detail and are symmetric which means that they are not a flight feathers but rather most likely head or neck feathers which also add to the probability that they are indeed dinosaur feathers.
Presented in a 8 x 6" Riker mount with an enlarged photo of the feathers. Estimate Value $1,500 - UP
