Laurel & Hardy: Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy Signed Inscribed and Signed 11 x 14" Double Weight Satin Finish Portrait. Stan Laurel (1890-1965) and Oliver Hardy (1892-1957) appeared as a team in 107 films, starring in 32 short silent films, 40 short sound films, and 23 full-length feature films and have never been close to being equaled as a comedy duo in the history of entertainment. Offered is an 11 x 14 double weight, silver gelatin portrait of both in satin finish. Stan Laurel has inscribed in his hand in steel point black fountain pen "Our Kind Regards & Best Wishes Merritt and Jim, Lots of Good Luck and Continued Success, Sincerely Always" all in Laurel's hand who then signed in cursive his autograph. Oliver Hardy signed in blue fountain pen a bit upside down by his image. Affixed in the center is a very nicely executed printed caricature or vignette, most definitely exhibiting the sharp matrix dot pattern printing of the time that nicely enhances the piece. One of the best signed photos we have offered of this legendary comedy team whose life together is now the subject of a major motion picture. Some evidence of handling otherwise excellent and extremely appealing. Estimate Value $750 - UP
