1798. Large eagle, small 8. NGC graded AU-58. BD-6, Rarity-6. Untoned with well struck devices and pleasing surfaces. The obverse does have moderate adjustments down through Liberty's head at a 30 degree downward to the right angle, along with a few that are about horizontal. Identifiable by these and a shallow scratch which just clipped her chin base into the right field. The reverse is well struck and attractive, with each star fully defined along with the wing feathers and legends. A rare die pairing and important to represent this scarce issue. Only 24,867 struck. Pop 6; 5 finer, 3 in 61, 1 in 62, 1 in 63. Estimate Value $19,000 - 20,000
