1793 C-4 R3 Liberty Cap. NGC graded AU-53. Medium steel brown and chocolate with hints of frost in protected areas on the obverse. No corrosion or verdigris, but there are several tiny planchet voids outside the wreath (as struck), strongest at ME in AMERICA. The obverse, however, is choice. The only contact marks are a light scratch on the base of the L in HALF and a few small rim nicks at ERI in AMERICA. MDS, Manley state 2.0. There are fine die clashmarks on the obverse and a small lump over the 7. A nice example of our first half cent. Our grade is EF45+ sharpness net EF40. Estimate Value $20,000 - UP
